Uncoupling the Perron Eigenvector Problem
ABSTRACT
- For a nonnegative irreducible matrix A, this paper is concerned with
the determination of its Perron eigenvector (the unique normalized
eigenvector associated with the Perron eigenvalue). It is explained
how to decompose A into a sequence of smaller matrices such that the
the eigenvectors of the smaller matrices can be naturally coupled together in order to
produce the Perron vector of A. This work was supported
in part by the National Science Foundation under Grant DMS-8521154.
